Choose with confidence

The right trek starts with an honest conversation.

These journeys suit people who enjoy walking and are comfortable camping. Distance is only part of the picture. Climbing, overnight altitude and consecutive days on the trail matter too.

01

Your walking experience

Tell us about recent walks, hills and previous treks. Bumdra has a steep ascent; Druk Path adds several days at altitude; Jomolhari includes long days and high passes.

02

Your ascent & rest days

We review the route and overnight heights with you, and discuss extra days where appropriate. Good fitness does not remove altitude risk. Discuss health concerns with a doctor before booking.

03

Your season & equipment

Spring and autumn are popular, but the right window depends on the trek. We'll explain camp conditions and what to pack, including suitable boots, layers and a daypack.

Bhutan has always been on my bucket list since forever, so I'm grateful that DrukAsia made this trip not only memorable, but truly unforgettable. Everyone was very responsive, helpful, and attentive throughout the process. The itinerary was also great and thoughtfully planned. I want to give a special shoutout to my guide and driver, Tashi and Acho Tandin, who went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable.

It was a deeply meaningful trip for our family. Bhutan has been on our “bucket list” and we wanted to share this experience with our 10 year old son. Sonam was exceptional in his patience and flexibility when helping us plan and execute our trip. Upon arrival, Lhendrup (Guide) was deeply knowledgeable and was always on hand to help us, none more evident that the tricky descent from Taktsang (Tigers Nest) with our son.

I had a truly wonderful and memorable journey to Bhutan from 26–30 August 2026. Even though it was only a 5D4N trip, it was packed with beautiful experiences and unforgettable memories, all thoughtfully organised by Mr Sangay. Bhutan is simply breathtaking. There were so many “wow” moments, especially the spectacular mountains, valleys and landscapes along the way.

A few things to know

Before you lace up your boots.

Bumdra combines a shorter camping experience with time in Bhutan's cultural valleys, but the ascent is demanding. Druk Path suits regular hill walkers ready for several days at altitude. Jomolhari is better suited to experienced trekkers. Tell us about your recent walking and we will help you compare suitable options, including gentler walks if needed.

April and May, and mid September to November, are popular for Bumdra and Druk Path. Jomolhari is generally planned in spring, from March to May, or autumn, from September to October. Weather, snow and trail conditions can change, so we confirm the suitable window for your chosen route.

No. Pack horses carry the main luggage and camp supplies. You carry a daypack with your water, layers and items needed during the walk. Your specialist confirms the luggage allowance and a personal packing list before departure.

The standard packages include tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats and blankets, with a crew preparing meals and setting up camp. Expect mountain camping rather than hotel facilities. The nights outside the trek use 3 star hotels; ask us to quote hotel upgrades or extra nights before or after the trek.

The starting land prices include visa arrangements and the applicable Sustainable Development Fee, alongside the trek and agreed cultural itinerary. Flights are additional. As Drukair's official representative, we can coordinate flight options and show their cost separately. Tell us your departure city so we can plan the connections.

Good fitness does not prevent altitude illness. Allow time to acclimatise and discuss the ascent, overnight heights and rest days during planning. Speak to a doctor about any health concerns before booking, and tell your guide promptly if you feel unwell. Your travel insurance should cover your planned trekking altitude and emergency evacuation.

A visit can be considered when the trail is open and access is confirmed. It is not guaranteed in the sample routes. Your specialist checks the current status before finalising the itinerary and discusses suitable alternatives when access is restricted.

Start planning as soon as your travel dates become likely, especially for spring and autumn. Flights and accommodation depend on availability. Your initial consultation and quote are free. We explain the price, booking conditions and payment schedule before you make a booking.
